Are We Laughing Yet: Spring 2008

“Are We Laughing Yet?”, a Cack and Jolo Chuckler, chronicles the serious and quirky business of the sitcom laugh track scene. During the lead up and live taping of the Seinfeld Reunion Show -  featuring Chris Rock as Kramer, we tail several professional laughers as they audition for a chance to "make the show funny."

Little is known about the laugh track profession, yet Hollywood has turned to them for decades. For years their story has been left neglected, but no longer. For the first time, we uncover the world of a paid laugher. We give these voices a face.

The Artificial Audience profession has made shows funny for years. They've told us when to laugh and how loud. They've helped producers insure their show is laughed at and have set the tone for America's favorite comedies for generations. They're influence is great, but their story is unknown. Until now.

This Laugh-u-mentary documents the fictitious lives of four professional laugh men and women as they add their skill to the audio track of Seinfeld's reunion show. Our cameras bring this dieing bread out of Hollywood's basement and place them center stage. We capture them as they spread their wings and show their scabs. Will the bright lights of our camera s blind them, ruining their secret world? This is our hope.

Are We Laughing Yet? Now casting.
